Many people have an understanding that whiskeys are strictly regulated spirits which are developed in different parts of the world. Many people across the world have different ways to make and taste whiskeys. Thus, in every country you would find different varieties of whiskeys. Depending on the make and taste, there are different classes of whiskeys and the classes determine their prices. Many people spend a lot of money just to have a sip of these exotic whiskeys.
Here are some of the expensive whiskeys that are available in the world today:
- Macallan 1926 Fine: This whiskey was manufactured in 1926 and is known for its taste. This special edition whiskey is the most expensive whiskey in the world. Recently, a Korean businessman purchased a bottle of it for staggering $70,000 which makes it an unreasonable price for it. There are only 15 to 20 bottles that are available today.
- Dalmore 62 Single Highland Malt: This exotic scotch used to be one of the most expensive whiskeys in the world before Macallan. This whiskey was made in 1942 and there only 12 bottles left. This whiskey was purchased by an unknown person for $58,000 in 2005.
- Glenfiddich 1937: This is another rare whiskey whose bottle casing is known to be the oldest in the world. The whiskey was manufactured in 1937. This whiskey was auctioned off recently where it was grabbed for $20,000.
- Macallan Lalique Crystal Decanter: This 55 year old whiskey is much known for its crystal bottle than its taste and texture. It has a taste of peat smoke and lingering citrus and has a cost of about $12,500.
- Dalmore Decanter: This 50 year whiskey is packed in a beautiful 60 crystal bottle that is available for $2000 in the market today. This single malt beverage was produced in 1978 and has a reputation of being highly intense and deeply flavoured. A bottle of this whiskey is priced at $11,000.
- Glenfarclas 1955: This is another 50 year old whiskey where the tasters are warned to taste it at their own risk. The whiskey has a spicy taste with a sweet start up sip. The price of each bottle is about $11,000.
- Macallan 1939: This expensive beverage used to have a taste of sweet toffee and dried fruits. The bottle of this whiskey costs about $10,000.
- Chivas Regal Royal Salute: This is an old scotch that has a smoky flavour with a hint of raisins. There are only 255 bottles of this beverage are left. During the time of Queen Elizabeth II, this bottle was priced at $100,000 in 1953 but today the price of this bottle is about $10,000.
- Macallan Fine Adn: This exotic beverage was made and bottled in Italy in 1947. This bottle was later on repackaged so that it can be included in the Fine and Rare collection of Macallan. This whiskey has an earthly flavour which is not present in modern whiskeys. The price of this whiskey is $7,000.
- Ladybank Single Malt: This single malt whiskey is produced in the Scotland and only 300 bottles are produced every year. Each bottle of this Scottish beverage can easily cost up to $5000.
