World’s Most Expensive Tie

Views on neckties tend to vary widely. To some, a necktie is a symbol of success and/or authority. To others, it can be seen as a leash or even a phallic symbol. Some people are of the view that it is only meant for Men, while others are of the opinion that it is also a style statement for women.  Regardless of what one may think of ordinary ties, they may be impressed by the world’s most expensive necktie.

Created by designer Satya Paul, the Satya Paul Design Studio, a company with roots in the early stages of India’s fashion industry for the Suashish Diamond group and displayed at a 2004 Mumbai fashion show aptly titled “Cultural Ties” by Salman Khan, the world’s most expensive tie made its debut.

Tied around the neck of bollywood film star Salman Khan, this unique tie is made of pure silk with a pattern in 150 grams of gold. It’s also adorned with 271 diamonds weighing 77 carats weighing 77 carats total.

When someone if uses this tie, every eye around will look at them.

After Salman Khan using it in the fashion show, this tie became the most famous tie all over the world.

This world’s most expensive necktie created for the Suashish Diamond group and priced at INR 1 crore—that’s 10 million rupees or, at the time, over $220,000.
